University of Tartu celebrates the Day of Women in Science for the fifth time
From 10 to 16 February, the University of Tartu will have a thematic week for Women in Science, aiming to underline the role of women and girls in science, break gender stereotypes and encourage women to pursue a career in science. During the week, a discussion on ensuring equal opportunities is held, and the university’s gender statistics are presented. It is also possible to take a curator’s tour of the exhibition in the university’s museum and see a travelling exhibition about astronomers.

Record amount of digital waste was deleted during the university’s Digital Cleanup Month
This year’s digital cleanup campaign at the university lasted for almost an entire month. In total, university members freed up 4,313 GB of space on their devices and discarded 93.5 kg of old external data carriers.

Funded project with Moldova
The project “Estonia's Best Practices for Enhancement of Moldova's Higher Education Capacities” (EST4MORE) has received funding from the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) and will run from June to December 2024. The project – led by our Institute – will involve directly Moldovan universities, lecturers, and stakeholders and will be locally coordinated by Dr. Cristina Ejov and her team from Moldovan State University.
