Admissions

With its vibrant international study environment, the University of Tartu Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies is an attractive place to study the social sciences, hosting students from around the world. Our graduate-level MA programmes are most suited for people with a background in government and politics, public administration, law, and economics or business administration, but motivation and interest in the field are more important than your previous degree.

We offer one bachelor level programme, which is entirely in the Estonian language. At the master's level, one can choose either English or Estoninan study programmes whilst our PhD study is entirely in English.

Important dates in 2023
Application period for international students 2 January - 15 March

Programme managers

Each programme has its own program manager who is ensuring that the courses taught in the program are consistent with the objectives and study outcome. The program manager also takes care of many other things, all of which are related to learning and teaching. But above all, our valued students.
