Spend a week studying in Copenhagen

On 24-30 March 2019 will be held one week intensive course "Theories and methodologies in area studies" for MA students (and advanced BA students) from Area Studies at the Universities of Lund, Tartu and Copenhagen.
This course introduces a selection of the most useful theoretical and methodological approaches within Area Studies, including cultural and memory theories, ethnography, interviews, literary approaches, work with quantitative data, discourse theory and content analysis.
The different approaches will be introduced in a series of lectures and students will be involved in seminars, hands-on workshops and field trips. The course is funded by a Nordplus higher education grant, which allows us to cover students’ expenses for flights and stay in hostels.
The course constitutes 5 ECTS points and may also be taken as a thematic course from the University of Tartu. The course is assessed by a 5-8 pages essay which must be submitted 3 weeks after the end of the course; this essay may also take the form of a methodological draft for a larger assignment. 5 ECTS will be issued only to students who have submitted the final essay on acceptable level.
To participate, please send up to 1 page motivated application to Heiko Pääbo ([email protected]) by February 13. For further information, you should also contact Heiko.
There are 12 free places available for students from Skytte.
We look forward to an inspiring and intensive week with a group of enthusiastic students!
