Choosing a Thesis Topic

Before choosing a topic for your thesis, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with previously defended theses. This is to find out what has already been studied and, based on that, to shape your own plans and focus for the research.

All theses defended since 2016 can be viewed and read in the University of Tartu’s electronic digital archive ADA.

Earlier theses are all available at the University of Tartu Library and the Faculty of Social Sciences Library. The faculty library is located in our building at Lossi 36-316 and is open Monday–Friday, 10:00–18:00.

If you are looking for a supervisor for your thesis, our staff page lists the topics on which we supervise theses.

Skytte Institute theses are available in the University of Tartu’s ADA digital archive
