Quality label for three Skytte Institute e-courses

Three courses from the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies received an Estonian e-course quality label 2017. The recognition is awarded by the The Information Technology Foundation for Education (HITSA).

All 11 e-courses submitted from the University of Tartu received the quality label, and the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies was the only unit from Tartu to submit three e-courses.

The courses which received the quality label from the Skytte Institute are:

  • Diffusion and Impact of Internet Voting (Dr Kristjan Vassil, Dr Mihkel Solvak)
  • EU-Russia Relations: Between the Vilnius and Riga Eastern Partnership Summits (Anna Beitane, Givi Gigitashvili, Thomas Linsenmaier)
  • Social Science Methodology (Prof Vello Pettai)

The course ’ Diffusion and Impact of Internet Voting’ was developed by the Centre of IT Impact Studies. The MOOC targets primarily non-ICT students and professionals, working and/or studying in Estonia, who are interested in widening their knowledge about internet voting. The course registration is open until 15.04.2017 at the University’s website.

The course ’EU-Russia Relations: Between the Vilnius and Riga Eastern Partnership Summits’ is a MOOC developed by the students of EU-Russia Studies Master programme as part of their practical coursework, supervised by Junior Research Fellow Thomas Linsenmaier. The e-course also received a special award from the University of Tartu Vice Rector for Academic Affairs in January 2017.
