H2020-funded HubIT project is inviting researchers from the fields of social sciences and humanities (SSH) to participate in a workshop on the topic of cooperation between SSH and ICT researchers in AHHAA Centre, Tartu, on 18 September.
The aim of the workshop is to explore the value and possibilities of collaboration between social sciences/humanities and ICT research. According to Anneli Roose, the representative of the project lead partner Civitta, the ICT innovations that change our lives cannot develop in a vacuum. “It is crucial for the IT sector to ensure that societal needs are taken into account and follow the expectations and values of society – this is where the social sciences and humanities come in,” says Roose.
In particular, the event will address the following questions:
The HubIT workshop will showcase examples of successful cooperation, useful HubIT project findings and tools, and will offer a space for discussion between the participants. The workshop will be followed by a networking cocktail.
The speakers include researchers from the University of Tartu with significant experience in ICT-SSH cooperation, such as Rajesh Sharma, PhD, from the Institute of Computer Science; Mihkel Solvak, PhD, from the Centre of IT Impact Studies at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies, and Emanuele Bardone, PhD, from the Centre for Educational Technology at the Institute of Education.
The workshop takes place within the framework of the First Annual HubIT Conference. For more information and registration, please see the workshop webpage and the event on Facebook.
