Discover and make the most of our Jean Monnet Actions at Skytte

If you are interested in European integration, please learn more about Jean Monnet projects at our institute! We invite you to join an informal session on Thursday 28.09 at 14.15-15.30, Lossi 36-307.

Here are the Jean Monnet actions we will be discussing:

  • Stefano Braghiroli and Anna Beitane will introduce the results achieved by the JM Module "Neighbourhood, Enlargement, and Regionalism in Europe" (NearEU) that will come to an end in October 2023
  • Piret Ehin will introduce the JM Centre of Excellence, "Rejuvenating Democracy in the EU" (REPAIR), which runs from 2023 to the end of 2025, with major public events envisioned for 2024. She will also introduce the EU30+ voting calculator that the project team has developed at the request of the Government Office of Estonia.
  • Andrey Makarychev will introduce the JM Network "Challenges and Opportunities for Heritage Diplomacy in Ukraine" (HER-UKR), which will start its activities in November 2023.

During the meeting, we will provide an overview of the activities and outline our plans. Also, we want to use this chance to collectively brainstorm about our future events and set in motion the planning of activities for Fall 2023 and 2024. It's worth noting that 2024 is a crucial year, with several key events on the horizon, including the European Parliament elections, the celebration of 20 years of Estonia in the EU, and the European Capital of Culture coming to Tartu.

This session is also an opportunity to discover the various opportunities available for students and colleagues. Whether you're interested in research, networking, or enhancing your understanding of European affairs, there are numerous possibilities for you to explore.

We'll offer snacks and soft drinks to make our gathering even more enjoyable.

We hope to see many of you! Your active participation and ideas will contribute to the success of these initiatives.
