In the autumn semester of 2023/24, the Cyber Policy Centre of the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies launched a course titled Cyber Policy and Security. The aim of the course was to provide an introductory overview and framework for orientation in topics related to the cyber domain and policy, and to develop an understanding of how cyber policy management takes place and how cyber considerations affect national and international security policy.
The course had a practical output, and the lectures were given by practicing experts in their field from various public and private sector institutions. As an introductory course, it dealt with various topics related to the cyber domain and policy, starting with its administration, management and cooperation at both national and international levels. Topics covered included different national approaches to cyber policy management, cyber crime, cyber warfare, cyber security, cyber norms and international cooperation in cyberspace.
Microdegree on Cyber Policy and Cyber Law widens the scope, as in addition to politics, it now includes law and cybersecurity domains. All that in order to better address the emergent need in training experts and the general public.
