„Education is more than just an exchange of information.“
1st year student of Democracy & Government (MA)
We are ready to support the studies starting from the 2020/2021 academic year with online tracks. In order to honour the principle that education is more than just an exchange of information, we in Skytte institute have implemented e-didactics principles to ensure the continuity of studies.
Our e-courses have been awarded with “Estonian E-course Quality Label” in 2020 and 2017. On both occasions we received the quality labels for several courses. In 2020 four and 2017 three courses were recognized by the Information Technology Foundation for Education (HITSA) for implementing e-didactics principles. In respect of our experience in distance teaching, please take a look at teaching modules and courses developed in Skytte institute.
Heiko Pääbo, Programme Director for Central and Eastern European, Russian and Eurasian Studies: "Online teaching opens new opportunities for teaching environment, enabling students and teachers to get to know their own digital capacities and develop them further. It is important to keep in mind that uploading a massive amount of text and asking students to answer some questions is not an online teaching. Instead, it requires a well-structured process with clearly defined guidelines, combination of real time online lectures and seminars with independent work and online group work. The spring semester experience proved that well-structured courses function well also for remote learners. In my teaching I stress this aspect to support my students.“
