Three PhD positions in Political Science
The online admission to the PhD programme in Political Science at the University of Tartu will take place in May 2020. Three positions will be filled in this admission round.
The Institute has suggested five broadly defined research topics where the applicant can outline a more specific research project according to their interest and expertise. These include topics such as e-governance and digital public services, electoral behaviour, and European integration, or require the use of a particular method, such as logical quantitative models or quantitative text analysis.
In addition to pre-defined themes, applicants are also welcome to apply with their own research topic which relates to the Institute’s research competences.
The application period for international applicants is from 1 May until 1 June 2020 in the DreamApply information system. Graduates from Estonian universities can apply from 15 May until 15 June in the SAIS system (in Estonian). In addition to the application, a CV and research proposal must be submitted. After interviews with selected candidates, decisions about admission will be announced in early July and studies are set to commence in September.
All PhD researchers in Estonia are eligible for an allowance and stipend in the combined amount of €1,060 per month, as well as health insurance and pension fund. The legal status of a PhD researcher is that of a student, not of an employee.
