Summer school brings international students to Tartu and Tallinn
The international summer school “Transition stories from USSR to EU: reasons and consequences” for BA and MA students aims to enhance and deepen participants general knowledge of Estonia and its experience of transition from USSR to a modern EU country.
During this interdisciplinary two-week summer school students have opportunity to learn about Estonian history, its political and social developments, Europeanization processes and national minorities issue, integration to EU and reform experience.
As Estonia is well-known for its e-oriented society, the school will also largely focus on principles of e-democracy and e-governance and introduce the main e-services developed in the country. The programme is not rich only in terms of in-class learning, but also implies obtaining first-hand experience from on-site visits to science park, e-showroom, entrepreneurial hubs as well as visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and the US embassy in Tallinn.
The summer school is organized by Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies of the University of Tartu in cooperation with College of Charleston within the framework of the International Scholars Program “MayAway”.
