On 3 December from 16:15 to 17:45, a public discussion titled "The Rise of Drone Warfare: What Everyone Should Know" will take place at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies (Lossi 36), room 214. Join us for an in-depth exploration of how drone technology is reshaping modern conflict.
Alexander Penkwitt, a former German Army officer, will lead the lecture, examining how small and large drones are transforming the core elements of warfare - information, firepower, movement, and fortification. Drawing on real-world battlefield examples, the talk will highlight how drones have revolutionized both reconnaissance and combat, from the front line to long-range deep-strike operations.
A demonstration with a small drone will give participants a chance to experience firsthand what modern drone piloting feels like, using first-person-view (FPV) goggles.
The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session, where attendees can engage in further discussion.
