Join us in the next #SkytteTalks session with Japanese diplomat NAKAMURA Koichiro on 7 May at 13.00 at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies (Lossi 36-307). The lecture will be held in English.

This seminar will provide insights into Japan's foreign policy in a changing international order. The Ambassador of Japan will explain the challenges facing the international community and Japan in today's rapidly changing international order, and the foreign policy Japan is pursuing to maintain a free and open international order based on the rule of law, with a particular focus on its security policy and its relations with neighboring countries.

NAKAMURA Koichiro is a Japanese diplomat with a background in law from the University of Tokyo. Since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987, he has held various positions in embassies in the United States, Russia, and Turkey, as well as roles within Japan’s Cabinet Secretariat focused on policy, intelligence, and analysis. He has served as the Ambassador of Japan to Estonia since 2024.
