On 17th of June at 1 PM, Helen Crompton, a renowned U.S. researcher in artificial intelligence, will give a public lecture on "Generative AI in Higher Education“.

Generative AI has become a major topic of discussion across universities worldwide, influencing conversations about pedagogy, assessment, academic integrity, and student engagement. This keynote provides an overview of the current state of generative AI in higher education, drawing on recent research and examples from practice. It considers key opportunities for supporting teaching and learning, while also addressing concerns surrounding reliability, ethics, bias, and misuse. The presentation concludes with examples of how higher education institutions and educators are approaching the integration of generative AI within contemporary learning environments.
Dr. Helen Crompton is the Executive Director of the Research Institute for Digital Innovation in Learning, and Professor of Instructional Technology at Old Dominion University. She has published over 250 papers on educational technology and is well recognized for her outstanding contributions, including a place on Stanford's list of the Top 2% of Scientists in the World. Dr. Crompton's expertise extends beyond academia to practice, as she frequently works with governments, and bilateral and multilateral organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank, leveraging her knowledge and experience to drive meaningful change in the field of educational technology globally.
